The Eversholt, London

The Eversholt is a 50,000ft2, sprawling commercial building on Eversholt Street in London, managed by Facilities Manager Mapp.

With three distinct entrances at numbers 163, 183 and 203, it currently operates manned Front of House during opening hours at two of them and has 24/7 coverage at the last one, making it an expensive building to operate.

The nature of the project at The Eversholt is two-fold.

  1. To supplement the existing staff, enabling them to be more mobile within the site while ensuring continuity of service to visitors and deliveries on-site.
  2. To constitute a test-site for Mapp, enabling them to ascertain the strengths of the system with a view to rolling out to more properties in the near future.

In order to do this, extensive discussions took place with the building’s management team and tenancy to fully agree the scope Lare Digital’s involvement, the processes we have to follow and the KPIs to ensure continuity of service.

Given the constraints of the site, it was decided that a small form factor device was preferable at each entrance, to be installed on the existing reception desks.

We decided to go with Microsoft Surface Tablets in Armodilo stands.

The Windows operating system, while more expensive than Android tablets, gives us the ability to easily remote into the devices for better and faster monitorin, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Armodilo stands are perfectly suited for non-intrusive installations (one of the constraints was to not do any drilling in the main reception desks) and have a pleasantly quirky, yet neutral design which suited both the newly renovated design and the Lares Digital technology.

The site went live in March 2024. The “bedding in” period was very short, to approximately one week, and initial returns from tenants and users is very positive.

I’ve known the team at Lares Digital for over a year now and I think they’ve done a fantastic service for Averys Property Management. We manage about 40 buildings and certainly I can see this being rolled out to more blocks that we manage.
